Registration has opened for the 2016 New York International Olive Oil Competition (NYIOOC), the fourth edition of the largest and most prestigious extra virgin olive oil competition in the world.
Each year the annual contest draws some 700 entries from 25 countries to be evaluated over three days in New York City by an international panel of top olive oil tasters.
REGISTER: 2016 New York International Olive Oil Competition
The winners will be known as the World’s Best Olive Oils for 2016 — earning their place on an authoritative list of elite oils for chefs and buyers around the world who want to find the year’s highest rated olive oil brands.
A press conference announcing the results of the competition will be broadcast live at 6:00 PM (22:00 UTC) on April 14, 2016 on the NYIOOC website and syndicated through international media channels including Olive Oil Times, the main sponsor of the event.
The complete list is presented each year on bestoliveoils.org, where details on the winning oils include information about the producer and where the brand is sold and distributed. Buyers can contact producers and distributors directly on the site, making it easier than ever for merchants, culinary professionals and home cooks to source the year’s best oils.
Olive oil brands can be registered on the NYIOOC Producer Tools website, a platform designed by NYIOOC to assist producers and brand managers in the promotion of their award-winning products.
