The International Olive Council (IOC) announced today the winners of its annual Mario Solinas Quality Award.
There were 149 entries, mostly from Spain (92) and Portugal (44). There were 5 entries from Italy, 2 from Greece, 2 from Tunisia, and 1 each from Croatia, Andorra and France.
There was only one entry from the Southern Hemisphere. But that oil was combined with Northern Hemisphere entries, the IOC said, “considering it was stored in the Northern Hemisphere.”
The place and time of the award ceremony had not yet been decided, the IOC added.
