World's Best Olive Oils to Compete in New York

The two-day event open to the pub­lic will fea­ture pre­sen­ta­tions on extra vir­gin olive oil appre­ci­a­tion, and culi­nary demon­stra­tions by some of New York’s most cel­e­brated chefs. An olive oil sen­sory eval­u­a­tion course will be offered for indus­try pro­fes­sion­als and enthu­si­asts.

An inter­na­tional panel of experts will judge the com­pe­ti­tion which is expected to draw hun­dreds of entries from every olive oil pro­duc­ing region. The win­ners will be rec­og­nized by the inter­na­tional press and share the pres­tige of tak­ing the prize at the only extra vir­gin olive oil com­pe­ti­tion held at the ​“Crossroads of the World.”

Several of New York’s most impor­tant gourmet retail­ers have signed on to fea­ture the win­ning oils in spe­cially-designed dis­plays, adding to the com­mer­cial ben­e­fits for the selected win­ners.

The event is co-pro­duced by Jane Street Media, pub­lisher of the Olive Oil Times which has become the lead­ing source of olive oil infor­ma­tion for con­sumers and indus­try pro­fes­sion­als.

The New York International Olive Oil Competition will take place in April, 2013.
