Deputy Agriculture and Environment, Angel Vera, and the delegate of the Caretaker Government, Rafael Valdivielso, inaugurated ExpoHuelma, the annual trade fair held in Sierra Mágina, Spain this weekend,.
The 28th edition of the event, running from August 25th to the 28th at the municipal sports complex, aims to promote the tourism, handicraft, livestock and agri-food industries, among others. This year more than 130 companies are showcasing their products.
The Jaén provincial government has its own stand at the fair focusing especially on presenting extra virgin olive oils. The goal is to raise awareness about the region’s excellent “liquid gold” selection, including those under the Jaén Selección 2011 label and olive oils from Designations of Origin throughout the province, and in particular the DO Sierra Mágina.
Attendees will be able to participate in olive oil tastings, workshops, and cooking presentations. The provincial government will also have entry forms on hand for the 9th International Award for Cuisine with Olive Oil; the deadline for registration is October 14th.
