The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition has officially opened registration for producers who wish to participate in the 9th edition of the annual contest.
The NYIOOC is the largest and most prestigious olive oil quality awards event, and each year’s winners are considered to be the world’s best extra virgin olive oils.
The 2020 edition saw 871 entries from 26 countries. The results were unveiled in real-time, allowing producers and the public to follow the awards as they unfolded. More than 28,000 tuned in during the 5‑day live stream.
Award winners are presented on the Official Guide to the World’s Best Olive Oils — the world’s most visited guide to high-quality extra virgin olive oils and the producers who craft them.
A recently-launched retail locator feature of the guide assists the public in finding award-winning EVOOs in nearby shops and through online vendors.
More than 400 articles have been written on the 2020 award-winning producers in international media outlets, including dispatches by Olive Oil Times journalists who cover the results of the annual contest.
